November 8, 2013 was one of the nicest days

I'm still trying to get over the excitement of it all. But I'm not in any rush to do that :)

Bright and early that morning, Sam's family and I loaded up in our cars to head out to Moab, Utah for his brother, Ben's mountain bike race. We took a few stops along the way and spent most of the car ride snuggled up in the back seat.

After Ben and his team were all set up at their camp that afternoon, the rest of his family and I went to check out Arches National Park. Neither Sam or I had ever been before and we were excited to hike out to see the famous "Delicate Arch" you see all over Utah's license plates.

The hike was only about 3 miles round-trip but it was a little more tiring than I expected! But we had lot's of fun on the way. At one point, I tried to race his little brother, Josh to the top of a hill and made it about 5 paces before feeling like I was about to go into cardiac arrest. Seriously, it was bad.

When we finally got to the arch, it was BEAUTIFUL! There were lot's of people sitting on this little ledge across from the arch taking pictures and soaking in the incredible view. Honestly, it was breathtaking.

After catching our breath for a few minutes, Sam wanted to get a picture under it. So we made our way over to the arch with Josh, leaving the rest of his family behind. When we got under it, we took a picture or two before Sam reached into his bag, got on his knee, held out my ring, and asked me to be his forever!

I didn't need much time to agree to his proposal. The combination of his handsome face and the GORGEOUS ring he was holding was enough to make anyone weak in the knees.

I can't even begin to tell you how happy and excited I was in that moment. When we turned to face his family, everyone there cheered for us! It was one of the happiest experiences of my life.

The rest of the weekend was filled with wedding plans and talk of our future together. We were overwhelmed with excited texts and phone calls from our loved ones. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face for the rest of the weekend, and I couldn't keep my eyes off of that stunning ring!

We feel extremely blessed to be at this point in our lives and are very anxious and excited to begin our new life together!

P.S. How great is Sam's sister, Lauren, for capturing it all? She's a keeper, that's for sure.
