Viva

After our extra scary drive home (Sam would probably tell you it was a walk in the park) we woke up the next morning to head to Vegas for the rest of the weekend! Can I just tell you that I love spending time with Sam? It was such a dream getting to have him all to myself the whole weekend. Ok, fine not the entire weekend, but a big chunk of it! Recently, Sam and I discovered that we have not had 7 straight days of seeing each other. Our record is six. Yeah, that makes me want to cry a little.

Ok, back to business. .

We headed down to Vegas for some quality hang time, a dress fitting, some shopping, bodies exhibit, good food, and to have my aunt Denise and uncle CJ take our engagement pictures. I was looking forward to this little getaway all week and it did not disappoint!

I spent the morning with my aunt at my first fitting for my wedding dress (it's perfect by the way) while Sam, my uncle CJ and my cousin Arie spent some time at Bass Pro Shop. Arie developed a little man crush on Sam and I may or may not have been a little jealous about it. Keep this between you and me, but I think Sam likes me a little better.

Next stop was the Bodies Exhibit. Talk about incredible. We probably looked like such geeks in there but I did not mind it one bit. Out of all the classes I've taken, Anatomy is my favorite. Sam is taking it right now so it was a perfect fit for us. Our favorite room was the cardiovascular system. Go check it out sometime, you're sure to be amazed. They don't allow cameras in the exhibit so this is all we got. Woohoo. At least you know I'm telling the truth.

When we were finished at the exhibit, we met up with Denise and CJ at Fashion Show for some shopping. A miracle happened that day. I didn't even buy one thing! I'm trying this new thing called saving my pennies. It's hard, but it's good for me.

Dinner time was one of the highlights of this trip. One of Sam's mission buddies told him about an authentic Japanese Barbecue so of course we were excited to try it out. It was in Chinatown so you know it's got to be great. The menu was pretty hard for me to understand but Sam hooked us up. The tables had little grills in the middle of them and the servers brought out raw meats for us to cook ourselves. It kept Sam entertained the whole time and it was really tasty. I mean REALLY tasty. It was obvious that we couldn't get enough of it because our ENTIRE table was covered in plates of food. I wish I could have snagged a better picture of it. It was fantastic. I loved it so much I even learned how to say its name right, "Yagyu Yakiniku". Yagyu is a name, and Yakiniku kinda means barbecue. So like Dave's Barbecue in Japan is how I like to think of it.

I'm dead serious, this wasn't even all of the food.

The next day, we got up and took our pictures at Red Rock State Park. We had originally planned to go to Mt. Charleston but it was covered in snow. I'm secretly happy about it because I think our pictures turned out amazing. Our height difference created a challenge but we worked around it and Sam looked like a total hunk. I'm drooling just thinking about it. I had such a blast getting to snuggle up to him for a few hours and we had a lot of funny/awkward moments. Our pictures couldn't have been any better. I look at them online every day and they still make my heart swell. Here's some classy pictures we took of the computer screen

My favorite moment of the day was when we were setting up for one of our slightly awkward/slightly scandalous poses and a little boy nearby saw us and let out an, "oh!" in surprise. Then a minute later drove by on his bike singing, "I CAME IN ON A WRECKING BALL!" Ohhhhh my goodness it was hilarious. K, maybe you had to have been there. Just take my word for it.

Driving back home at the end of the weekend, I couldn't help but feel so happy and blessed to get to spend the rest of my weekends with my favorite guy. I'm the luckiest.
